Does Endian support Load Balancing?
Q: Do Endian Unified Threat Management appliances support load balancing between two internet connections? I have two ISPs and I'd like to combine the uplinks.
A: Yes Endian does support load balancing, specifically policy based load balancing.
Interfaces can be defined under the "Network" menu option in the "Interfaces" submenu. This is where you'll set up your two internet connections.
After these are set up, click the "Routing" tab under the same menu, then click "Policy Routing". Here you can create rules to specify which type of traffic goes out which interface. You have plenty of options! You can select traffic based on the local network IP address, the zone (green, blue, orange), the OpenVPN user or the MAC address. Furthermore you can define individual services or ports to route. For example, you can direct all of your SMTP traffic out one of the interfaces.

The key is to select which uplink to use on the section labelled "Route via." You can also choose to use the second uplink as a backup if the first is down.
