Adam White

I'm Adam White, JMR's head of web development and social media.

I've been with JMR for over a decade now. I got my start here as a co-op student in high school as I grew up in Niagara Falls, and I came back for another co-op term while attending the University of Guelph. I have a Bachelor of Computing with a minor in Sociology from U of G. Since 2005 I've been working full time as a developer and consultant for JMR Logics.

My background is in Java development, having worked on many back-office reporting and analytics systems using technologies like Apache Tomcat and Jasper Reports. In 2010 I took over JMR's web development team, guiding us head first into Drupal and the wonderful world of open source. Since then I've have the pleasure of representing us at events like the 2010 Toronto DrupalCamp and Drupalcon Chicago 2011.

I'm one of the founders of Social Media Club Niagara, our own local chapter of the worldwide Social Media Club organization. In the past year I've given over a dozen talks and seminars on social media, e-business and Internet trends to business groups and organizations across Niagara, including the City of Niagara Falls, the Niagara Falls Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Fort Erie Chamber of Commerce. I write the occasional social media column for the Business Link newspaper as well.

In my spare time I explore the Niagara region with my video blog Check In Niagara and I'm the managing editor of Punknews.org.
